About this event

**BIPOC Community Night!**

Join professional and community artists for Play of Delights, the culmination of a four-month intergenerational theater project involving performers of all ages from Ithaca and Trumansburg.

We are pleased to offer a BIPOC Community Night on Saturday, June 22 at 7:00 PM. While no one will be turned away, we encourage you to join us in creating intentional space for BIPOC community members whose experiences are centered in the show.

If you are not part of the BIPOC community, or attending with a BIPOC loved one, we hope to see you on another night of the run, and thank you for your continued support!

The performance will feature dance theater and original work inspired by The Book of Delights by award-winning author Ross Gay. Afterward, we will celebrate with a potluck and possibly a bonfire. We welcome you to dress with delight and bring something delicious to share!

Transportation and childcare are available! Fill out this form to sign up: https://tinyurl.com/PoD-transport-childcare

There is no cost but tickets are required as seating is limited.

Play of Delights is supported by a Humanities New York Action Grant, the Cornell Rural Humanities initiative from an award by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, a grant from the Triad Foundation, Inc., and rehearsal space funded by the New York State Council on the Arts.

What is The Book of Delights?

From the publisher: A spirited collection of short lyric essays, The Book of Delights, written daily over a tumultuous year, reminds us of the purpose and pleasure of praising and celebrating ordinary wonders.... These remarkable essays serve as a powerful and necessary reminder that we can, and should, stake out a space in our lives for delight.
